Lera
 
     
 
LERA has had an extensive modeling career which has taken her all over the world. Some of the countries where she has modeled include France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and even the UK and Japan. Lera has been in editorials for L'Officel magazine, Vogue, Grazia and Madame Figaro. She has also been fortunate enough to have worked for prominent brands like Wella and Sunsilk, Esprit, Triumph and La Perla. This year was the second time Lera has modeled for South African Sports Illustrated.

‘Although this will be the first time I’m involved a major charity event; I have been to SOS village in Cape Town and regularly donate online to the animal charity,
PETA. I’ve also been involved in raising collections for a disabled children charity.’
 
     
  Lieschen Botes  
     
 
LIESCHEN BOTES (best known for her title as the Wonderbra girl for South Africa from 2005 to 2008) comes from Welkom, in the Free State. She has appeared in the SA Sports Illustrated Swimwear edition and was the cover model for 2006. Lieschen also partook, as one of the celebrities, in Strictly Come Dancing (season 4) in South Africa. She has done various cover shoots for well known magazines like Cosmopolitan Magazine (SA & Mexico), Top Billing magazine, FHM (SA & Germany), PC Format & SA Sports Illustrated Swimwear. Lieschen also featured in the Cosmopolitan Lingerie edition, Guess Jeans advertising, ATKV, Edgars, Truworths & Foschini.

In terms of charity work she’s been involved in breast cancer awareness campaigns while being the Model for Wonderbra. From 2005 to 2007, she was the National Cleavage Day spokesperson for Wonderbra and breast cancer; and in 2006 she even auctioned a Wonderbra for R20 000 in order to raise money for the High Veld Radio Charity event in Sandton. This year Lieschen participated in the Cancer walk for survivors in the Goldfields, where she won an award for best theme with Bedelia Primary School.
 
     
  Christina Storm  
     
 

CHRISTINA STORM began modelling at the age of 18 when she was spotted walking the streets of Holland, she was snapped up by a photographer and was instantly put in the spotlight. Christina is a lady of many talents, including a role as Bienkie in the daily drama series Egoli as well as presenting programmes like Zap Mag, Zoo Tv and Saterdag Nag. Christina has been seen in many television commercials around the world, advertising popular brands like Mercedes Benz, Levi Jeans, Femina, American Swiss and Edgars. She has also been featured on numerous popular magazine covers.

Christina runs a successful business called Hail Mary Productions, which can best be described as a boutique agency. They cater for clients' individual needs and have launched various fashion shows, award winning music videos and editorials. Christina participated in Models for Africa 2006 and we are pleased to have her involved again this year.

 
     
  Liza Botha  
     
 
LIZA BOTHA was scouted at the Waterfront by an American modeling agency at the age of sixteen, and was then sent off to the Big Apple. This was one of the toughest yet greatest times of her life, leaving her with fond memories and forcing her to become independent sooner than she would have otherwise. Since then Liza has been incredibly blessed, working all over the world, including Iceland, India, Spain, London, Malaysia, Seychelles, Bali and the Maldives. Some of Liza’s best known jobs in South Africa include SA Sports Illustrated - 2001, 2005 (cover), 2006, 2008 and the “Oggi Watch” Campaign. Liza finished her studies in 2007 and is currently pursuing a career as an interior designer. Charity Involvement: Liza was part of the 2006 “Models for Africa” fundraising event at “moyo” and didn’t hesitate for a second to get involved in our 2009 event. She would love to get involved with an animal charity organization. Having recently rescued a female bull terrier in very bad shape, she would like to help more abused & neglected animals wherever she can.
 
     
  Marzaan  
     
 
MARZAAN is a 24 year old Capetonian, who is in the process of completing her LLB degree. She has been modelling for more than 12 years and has worked in all the major fashion capitals. Marzaan has worked for many reputable businesses including Nivea, Triumph, Esprit, Impulse, Mr Price, Sissy Boy, Cosmo swimwear and lingerie, and Sports Illustrated 2009. She has done some presenting and shot over 40 TV commercials. Marzaan has also been involved in a charity project, initiated by her family approximately 20 years ago. They've been assisting 24 families living in a forest near Table View by building toilets, informal housing, vegetable gardens and organized residents their ID documents. Recently they ensured that the municipality provide clinic services as well as running water. They've also obtained donations from corporate bodies such as JMC where much needed household utensils and implements that assist in creating jobs were made available. Marzaan has also had the opportunity to support people in Botswana, by sending food and clothing with members from her church, during which 6 informal churches were built for the Bushmen. “It's awesome to be involved with SALT and I'm hoping to be able to get more involved in future.”
 
     
  Rue  
     
 
RUE has been modelling for some time; clients love her exotic looks and she is always in demand - she has travelled extensively all over the world. She is in the latest Woolworths campaign and is the new face of Liqui Fruit. Rue has also appeared in Sports Illustrated, American Swiss and Triumph campaigns. She has worked for many international catalogues and magazines. This will be the 2nd time Rue is taking part in the Models for Africa charity event as she feels very strongly for this cause.
 
     
  Vathiswa Gracious Menemene  
     
 
VATHISWA GRACIOUS MENEMENE is 25 years of age and a proud South African citizen. She was born in Cape Town and brought up in a small township called Mfuleni. Vathiswa describes herself as a ‘bubbly, vibrant and charismatic person who is very enthusiastic about life!’ She finished her Matric at Abbots College and excelled in singing, dancing and drama; ‘my naturally, God given talents’. In terms of tertiary education, she has recently finished her Hotel Management course with the International Hotel School. Vathiswa is artistic and attracted to the creative and glamorous things in life, with the confidence to entertain. These attributes recently paid off when she acted in a Bollywood movie production called LUCK, which was shot last year in Cape Town. She has also acted the role of Thakani in a local film comedy production called STOKVEL. Vathiswa is a Christian and a very loving and empathetic person by nature. ‘Perseverance is my motto, I believe that in the course of life, great sailors were made out of great violent winds.’
 
     
  Irina  
     
 
International Model IRINA has finally set her roots in Cape Town, working for locally based 3d Model management. Her highly successful career has seen her grace catwalks all over Europe and America, in cities such as Paris, Moscow and New York. In addition she has worked with many prestigious designers such as Givenchy, Issey Miyake, Betsey Johnson and Tracy Reese to name but a few. Many readers may have had the privilege of reading stories she has done for Cosmopolitan, Elle and Vogue and would recognise her from many television commercials. Irina is excited to be a part of Models for Africa and hopes to have more opportunities to use her talents for the benefit of others in the future.
 
     
     
  Je-vaine  
     
 
JE-VAINE is 20 years old. She recently moved to Cape Town, relocating from her home town of Klerksdorp in order to pursue her dreams of becoming more involved in the modelling industry. Creativity is a big part of her life. She loves to paint, scrapbook, and cook. Her current obsessions are her collection of cowboy hats and love for music. She has also just started an acting course at Act Cape Town, as acting is one of her biggest passions in life. 'I believe creative minds change the world'

Je-vaine has been involved in a lot of charity work, and is also a part time scout who searches for new modelling talent. She describes herself as a people's person, and loves to meet new people and new personalities by socializing everyday. Je-vaine is committed, not only to her dreams but to her Lord, who she describes as not only her best friend, but also her King.
